Hello everyone and thanks again for tuning in. So today's video is going to be all about how to accessorize, more specifically how to accessorize with jewellery. Now I got a lot of requests about this over the past couple months, but I’ve kind of been leery about making it just because I don't use too much jewelry. I'm more of like a classic simple type of jewellery wearer, so this video is more of my take on how to accessorize with jewellery, but still stay looking classic. I also touch on and give my take on some of the right ways to wear other kinds of jewellery is with different necklines and different types of outfits and so if you're interested in that stay tuned. Don’t forget to hit that red subscribe button before you leave if you like what you see, stay tuned for the video.
Okay so right now I am wearing the same outfit that I wore in my intro video and since the shirt has graphics, this is more of a casual and laid-back outfit and so how to accessorize this type of an outfit is pretty easy. The shirts doing a lot of the talking, but if this shirt didn't have anything on it, if it was just a plain white tee, then we could do a lot more, but right now just dealing with this shirt that I have on.
I'm going to put on some arm candy now, for me since my arms and my wrists are so tiny, I don't like using any big cuffs or anything like that. I like simple bangles, so I'm taking this really pretty star bracelet, this one's by Amanda dear. Again I like everything in the description box below and then the other bracelet that I'm going to put on is similar, just has a simple little diamond on it. This one is by Audrey and I got it at Nordstrom, just looks like that. So I’m going to layer it on my arm as you would silver and gold necklaces.
For this outfit I'm not going to put on any necklaces just cuz this shirts already busy and that's pretty much all I'm going to do for my arms since they're bare. What I am going to do is add a hat, so here I have my hat on, I just feel like outfits like this are really fun and really kind of edgy with the hat on. I kind of look like, you really do know what you're doing. If I did want to add something on my neck then I'm going to add some of these spiritual necklaces that you guys see me wear all the time. These are by Miranda Frye. You can just find them on around AFRICOM again these will be linked in the description box below. I also have a coupon code so that you can get 10% off your whole order as well as free shipping.
Alright so as you can see now I’ve added these two spiritual necklaces by Miranda Frye onto this whole outfit and I have my cute little dainty bracelets, so it's not too much but I have a little of something all over my body. I feel like so the great thing about these necklace that I just put on as you can tell already by just this t-shirt in this outfit they still go. There not too much, they are still visible whereas if I wore like a Dean tear necklace it might not be as visible, they're not too big they're not too small these necklaces you can literally wear with everything.
I've been wearing them with my fancy dresses, I’ve been wearing them without fits like these and even though you have something busy going on these will still go because this whole thing would definitely work if you had on a plain white tee as well. Now I have a third necklace for Miranda Frye this one is a cross, I just have the two other spiritual ones. This is like a hexagon or octagon and then this is just a round one but I could wear a third one of these, but I think it's too much with the graphics going on my shirt. Now when I would layer this and wear three altogether is if I was wearing a plain t-shirt that is more low-cut. All right so now moving on to the more low-cut type of tops or dresses what I have on is just this low-cut cami that I got from Zara, so I cut the to Miranda fried necklaces on now this is a time where I could add the third Miranda FRA necklace and as you can see it looks great.
Low-cut tops like this where it's just bare makes it really fun to really accessorize a lot. You can kind of do a lot with it because you have a lot of skin showing, there's no print so layering necklaces is an option like the ones I have on by Miranda Frye or you could layer them in other dainty ways. Okay so now I have on just a lariat necklace, this one is by Amanda dear, you guys know I love Amanda dear she does a lot more dainty jewellery so this is one of her items. Now I could just wear this by itself or I can just keep on layering. So she also makes this kind of disc necklace and alaria and in a regular necklace and so I'm going to add this one up to the top.
Alright so now as you can see I added that extra necklace and kind of looks like this is a necklace all together that came together but it isn't, it's all separate, but I didn't have extra layer just makes a beautiful difference. Now if you want you can add another layer as well. Okay so i've decided to add a choker because the key to this was just kind of building on top of each other so I thought a choker that was simple that didn't have anything hanging or dangling from it would be he and so this is what it looks like on my neck and this is my necklace party. So now I'm gonna talk about layering, I know sometimes when you see pictures of women wearing a whole bunch of different types of necklaces on their neck it is called layering and sometimes it is easier said than done. So there is kind of an art to it.
I'm going to show you how to lay your necklaces, alright so right now I have a bunch of different necklaces on my neck, I have four layers of necklaces right now, so I mix different design areas and i've mixed different lengths. Somehow pendants and some don't so for me, I feel like the key to layering is to really start off simple and then get down to stuff with pendants. It starts off with shorter necklaces and they get longer and longer and longer, that's the easiest way I can explain layering and once you get it down once you find that you have those necklaces in your closet then you can easily try them out and swap them out and try different things.
So right now I have this Amanda dear, this is called a baguette necklace, it is really simple it has a little horizontal diamond and then I added my brand of FRA radiance necklace and then my Miranda Frey Hope necklace and then the last one is like a lariat style necklace. This one is by Gorge ona so if you can remember that stick to the simpler shorter pieces and then they get longer and then you can start adding pendants, so short and simple, longer and then longer and then you can start adding pendants and then the longest the kinds of pieces. You should have in your closet is a simple lariat necklace, like this, something with a and then a simple just a round necklace like the one I have on right here. Those are the three key necklaces, I feel like where you can really shine with layering.
All right, so right now we're in the fall season we're going to be wearing a lot of things like this to events and parties especially going into Christmas. We're going to be wearing a lot of long-sleeve sweaters and things like that and so a really simple basic tip that i've kept with me a long years is the two jewelry rule, so you don't ever want to overdo it and look like a Christmas tree and so I always say if you're unsure only do two jewelry pieces at once. Either a necklace and some bracelets or a necklace and earrings or earrings and a bracelet. Don't do all three because you just might look too busy and end up just looking like I said again like a Christmas tree. So right now I have this semi fancy like cocktail party type of outfit. I have these accordion style culottes that I got from boohoo this is a BCBG top long sleeve for earrings since I love hoops and since hoops are in and a big major way this season I am wearing these. Who said I got from forever 21 as well as some bangles that I got from Nordstrom. I believe these are gharana but I didn't want to put anything around my neck just because of what's going on in the center part of my body, with you know showing some skin here and this keyhole right here.
If you were just wearing a plain sweater you could add a necklace and wear some bangles or you could add necklaces and wear some earrings or you could just do earrings or if you just do earrings and a bangle. If you're the kind of person that like loves jewelry and like wants to add more and more and more but don't overdo it, because again keep that Christmas tree in mind. If you're wondering what I'm talking about, I'm talking about the ornaments that you add add add at moving on to cleaner outfits like the one I have on right now this is just a semi Hynek cap sleeve top along with a leather miniskirt. This is by misguided and this one is by Zara and you're wearing two separates like this sometimes this is when it's nice to throw in a belt to break up the outfit. I have this waist belt which is perfect. I got this one from pretty little thing but this is definitely the type of belt that you would use to break up an outfit like this it makes it more fun and more dressy I also have this belt from H&M; that I got, it's a little smaller it's not as crazy but it just does the same thing by breaking up the outfit.
Now with this I feel like you could add some hoops in there and some bangles and nothing too crazy on the arms, just similar to the one I have on right now and I feel like you're cute you're not too over-the-top but you do have enough accessories to make the whole outfit. Now I'm keeping the same outfit on but we're going to talk about statement jewelry and bigger types of necklaces like these. I think a lot of times some people overdo it with things like this and don't really know how I went to wear them but think of this outfit as one whole dress, but this is when it is the right way and the right time to use big jewelry and statement necklaces like this. These types of necklaces look great on shift dresses that are plain, even shift dresses that have some print on them but always keep in mind that bigger statement jewelry like this goes best with non printed outfits and outfits that also don't have too much shape, but just need something to take away from the non shapely outfit that you have on and so I'm just going to throw this on.
Let's see how it looks, so already a world of difference with what this big necklace does to this plain outfit. Just throw on some heels and you'll be good to go. Other times wear jewelry like this is really fun and festive is when you're thinking festival. So the Rolling Stones t-shirt that I had on earlier would look cute with this if you're going to that kind of a thing. These necklaces also go great if you have a lot of crew necks or boat medic tops as well. Okay so right now I have on this beautiful dress by mink pink, it has floral print and this tie right in the middle here. So what I did was I kept these simple bracelets around my arms and then I added these cute hoops from forever21 with a pearl on them which goes with some of the white in this dress but for something like this where there's a kind of a lot going on, there's print, there's a tie, this dress even has some slits on the bottom. You don't want you need too much and you don't want to do too much. I didn't want to take the attention away from what's going on right here, so I did just want to add some hoops just because it is just a dress with straps.
You could do a lot more on the arms if you wanted to, now if this were like a plain black dress or just a plain colour without any print, then I feel like you could do more layered necklaces and look really cute. All right, so now moving on to outerwear pieces if you're like me and you like to wear a lot of jacket baring jewelry can be tricky. I always just find that going more simple is always the way to go because you're already putting a lot on your body you don't want to overdo it by putting more and more and more. So right now, I just have a simple star necklace. This one is by Amanda dear the jackets heavy and so I couldn't imagine putting on like a statement necklace with this outfit it would just be even heavier. If you are any more formal work place where you are using a lot of Blazers and things like that with suiting then definitely obviously more simple jewelry similar to the one I have on as well is really important and not to overdo it.
I could do some layering with this outfit still, as long as it's still delicate. Like I added them around a fry I did two of them and it still looks pretty dainty and still simple enough if I wanted to add earrings to this outfit, I could just do some simple hoops like this and if I really wanted to, I could keep the hoops that I have on right now but also add a really simple necklace like this one from Amanda dear which will still look soft. Also one last tip if you really do need something on your ears when you already have bracelets and a necklace, just keep it super simple and just throw on some studs. That way it doesn't interfere with what you already have going on and there is still something on your ears. So that is it for this video on how to accessorize with jewellery.
